September 8, 2017: Hurricane Irma

Dear Wake Forest Alumni and Friends,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones as you brace for Hurricane Irma. It seems this storm likely will have a devastating impact on thousands of our Wake Forest alumni and friends in the Southeast.

As always, our Office of Alumni Engagement is here to assist with the needs of Wake Forest graduates. If we can do anything to support your needs before or after the storm hits, please contact While all Homecoming weekend events are expected to proceed as planned, we understand that recovery efforts in many communities will necessitate a change of plans. We will be sensitive to your situation and are glad to assist you in any way we can.

Our Hurricane Relief website outlines the University’s support to students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff who have loved ones in the areas recently affected by Hurricane Harvey, as well as those bracing for what Irma has in store in the coming days.

We will continue to monitor the news about Irma’s impact and keep our website up to date with resources to help our Wake Forest family and others in the wake of the storm.
